In this issue of Sports Illustrated with Matt Kemp and Magic Johnson on the cover, there is a pretty funny article worth reading. It starts out talking about how 3 jurors fell asleep in the Department of Justice's perjury case against Roger Clemens. The writer (I tried to find it online, but couldn't so I don't know the writer's name at this point and can't give attribution.)
I read the article today in print at the Long Beach Public Library as my kids did their homework, while my wife looked at gardening magazines, before going to son's baseball practice. Beat that for a day.
It's late, and I am going strictly from memory. The writer was hilarious, comparing Judge Reggie Walton to an All-Star Game manager, late in the game, running out of players. Judge Walton could only send 2 of the 3 jurors who fell asleep home, the writer says, because like the manager, he was running out of alternate jurors.
The writer also said the jurors falling asleep epitomizes how the general public feels about the case, i,e. tired of it.
I'm not tired of it. The Rocket is on trial for perjury in a United States Federal Courthouse.
